Oil Spill Action

Crews rushed to clean up the worst oil spill in Japan's history - 4 million gallons of crude that gushed into Tokyo Bay from the tanker Diamond Grace after it hit a well-marked reef. Unlike 1989's Exxon Valdez disaster, in which 11 million gallons were dumped on remote Alaskan coastline, scores of emergency vessels were close by and sped into action.
