Barbara Morris said Frederick Harris intimidated her into buying US$12,400 worth of merchandise. A grocery manager ended the ordeal by calling police when she attempted to buy $800 worth of cigarettes. Harris was jailed on kidnapping, robbery, and weapons charges.
