Ameritech Indiana doesn't want to pay the US$1.1 million that a federal jury in Indianapolis awarded three women workers who sued for sexual-harassment. The company said it will appeal, and maintains that it behaved appropriately during nearly two decades of harassment complaints involving a single male worker, Gary Amos. The company finally took action in 1994, when Amos masturbated in his office cubicle in front of one of the three plaintiffs.
