Teen Driving Restrictions

The American Automobile Association wants states to enact more restrictive laws for teen drivers, who cause a disproportionate number of accidents. The centerpiece of AAA's effort: graduated licenses. After a learner's permit period, under-18 "intermediate" drivers would have to be accompanied by someone over age 21 when driving at night, among other restrictions. Full licenses would come at age 18 for those with a clean, accident-free record for 12 months.
