Markets opened the day in a continuation of the full-disappointment mode that carried the day Thursday despite a string of superficially decent earnings reports. The Dow, down 119 Thursday, was off 72 to 7867 in early tradin. The Nasdaq was down 23 to 1676, matching its last-session loss.
