Hong Kong's Hang Seng plunged 4.2 overnight, but the Dow still managed to eek out a 14.74 gain, closing at 7689.13. The Nasdaq rose 1.17, to 1631.15. As is often the case, Intel was the most-active issue, losing US$2.69.
