Frankfurt's DAX rose 1 percent and London's FTSE 100 fell 0.4. In New York, profit taking after three big days of gains pushed theDow down 47.65 to 7650.57. The Nasdaq was off 13.67 to 1600.44. The most-active list was cluttered with tech and telecom issues, with AT&T gaining 8 percent.
