New ground was broken on Wall Street today when Smith Barney agreed to allow claims of sexual harassment to be heard by outside arbitrators instead of industry refs. Twenty-three of 25 of the original plaintiffs in what has become a class-action suit are supporting the proposed settlement, which also includes US$15 million for diversity programs.
