The missionary group Jews for Jesus has filed a federal trademark-infringement lawsuit against a New Jersey critic who has set up a similarly named Web site to refute the group's religious claims.
The suit, filed in New Jersey, accuses Steve Brodsky of six instances of trademark dilution and infringement in setting up a competing Jews for Jesus site with a URL very similar - www.jewsforjesus.org to the group's own www.jews-for-jesus.org. Brodsky's page links to Outreach Judaism, a group promulgating an orthodox Jewish message that disputes the beliefs of the Christian Jews for Jesus.

Japan's killer spam: While Japan's Internet population booms, it's refreshing to see that an air of - well, innocence - still surrounds the nation's cyber expectations. An example? The news service Kyodo reported today that Japan's trade ministry had recently been the target of a spam attack that "clogged" one of its servers.
The imagination reels. Lowly Net denizens all over the world open up their mailboxes to sometimes dozens of "$50,000 A DAY FOR LIFE" solicitations. So how many messages did the ministry endure in its spam-terror bombardment?
Two hundred.
The mail was described as a come-on for an investment venture. Kyodo said the ministry is investigating whether the mail was sent intentionally.
