CANNES, France - Yahoo, having already gone global by offering its service in several European and Asian languages, is turning its attention to Spanish and Italian language programming.
"We are starting to work in the Spanish language, and we will enter territories from there," said Heather Killen, Yahoo vice president for international services. "There are a lot of Spanish speakers around in the world, and a lot of them are actually in the United States."
Italian service is coming soon, too, she said.
"The marriage of technology and design should interest the Italian markets. A lot of interesting things have happened there in the past 12 months. We would like to come on stream there at the right time," Killen said.
Apart from English, Yahoo is available in German, French, Japanese, Korean, and the three Scandinavian languages.
