Icon CMT Corp. said it will cease publication of its influential cultural Web site Word, and extreme sports site Charged. The announcement is the latest development in Icon's difficult realization that publishing the graphically adventurous webzines doesn't fit in with the rest of the company's evolving business as a provider of Internet and intranet solutions. Last May, the company said it was looking for a large media company to develop and manage the sites.

Color my world: Nintendo of America announced today that it would launch a new line of Color Game Boy pocket videogame players. The units will be similar in size to existing Game Boy machines, but will feature a new color reflective screen, as well as the ability to connect with Nintendo 64 game consoles. The players will be available in the US, Japan, and Europe by the end of the year, the company said.(3.10.98)
