Players' Fate Still Unknown

Only hours after a report claiming that four Cuban baseball players and their coach had arrived safely in the Dominican Republic, an official of that country's immigration department denied any knowledge of refugees turning up on Dominican shores. An earlier report said that the players, who had been at sea for 10 days after fleeing Cuba, had called relatives in Havana after making landfall, ill but safe. The Dominican navy and air force are continuing to search for the players, a government spokesman said.
