Toyota plans to begin exporting its new 66-miles-to-the-gallon gas-electric hybrid car to the United States and Europe by the end of 2000. The car, which is powered by electricity at slow speeds and gasoline at higher speeds, has been in high demand in Japan, the company says. The automaker has yet to decide the exact date for the export debut.
