Ralph Lauren is suing -- and in turn is being sued by -- the US Polo Association over the name of its 22-year-old magazine, Polo. The designer of the Polo line of clothing claims a 1985 trademark on the name and says Polo, which last year was redesigned as a lifestyle magazine for the polo-loving, creates confusion in the minds of those who would wear his clothing. He's asked a Houston magistrate to force the magazine, which claims 1992 trademark on the moniker, to drop the name or stop publishing until the dispute is resolved.
