DNA analysis shows that the serviceman whose remains were exhumed from the Tomb of the Unknowns is Air Force 1st Lt. Michael J. Blassie, a fighter pilot who was shot down in Vietnam. The identification became public today when the Pentagon called the family of another serviceman who was shot down the same day as Blassie and whose remains were possibly thought to have been entombed. The Pentagon said an announcement was expected Tuesday.
