Alan Greenberg's US$1 million donation to a New York hospital, specifically earmarked to buy the anti-impotence pill, came after he read that some insurance companies and state health programs were denying patients the drug because of its cost (about $8 to $10 a pop). "I think it's something that will give a lot of pleasure to a lot of people," said Greenberg, chairman of Bear, Stearns Companies.
