In off-the-gun trading, the Nasdaq rose .40 points above the 2000-mark -- the highest ever, after a sixth consecutive record close Wednesday -- but by late morning was down almost 11 at 1983.58. The Dow opened almost 4 higher but was off 23.17 at 9211.30 later in the morning. Asia: The Nikkei rode Wall Street's Wednesday gains to 0.71 percent. The Hang Seng was up 1.54 percent.
