Blue chips tumbled Thursday after an overnight Asian slump kept investors wary. By late morning, the Dow was down 29.60 at 8517.18. The Nasdaq was off 0.79 at 1787.41. The Wired Index was down 1.24 at 400.20. Asia: Hong Kong's 2.84 percent decline paced the region. The Nikkei lost 0.72 percent.
