Stocks were on the mend Wednesday following Tuesday's bludgeoning. By late morning, the Dow was up 19.31 at 8482.16. The Nasdaq was up 27.20 at 1819.90. The Wired Index was up 6.50 at 413.95. Asia: A rebounding yen helped out, but the Nikkei still lost 0.18 percent. The Hang Seng rose 1.17 percent.
