Some US stocks lost ground in late Wednesday trading after Fed Chairman Greenspan failed to give any firm hints that the central bank is considering an interest rate cut. The Dow dropped 43.26 to 7981.13, the Nasdaq was up 2.86 at 1680.97, and the Wired Index fell 3.40 to 379.56.
