US stocks fell, led by financial services shares, as several banks stepped in to rescue a big hedge fund that was burned in the global economic turmoil. The Dow dropped 73.64 to 8,080.77, the Nasdaq fell 17.14 to 1743.13 and the Wired Index lost 4.73 to 397.38.
