Market Update

US stocks were modestly higher in late Wednesday trading. Earlier in the day, stocks were mixed as a slew of better-than-expected earnings results failed to boost investor confidence in the health of the economy. The Wired Index rose 2.74 to 378.50, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 16.73 to 8522.58, and the Nasdaq rose 18.88 to 1658.07.
