The Maryland peace conference between Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was extended to a fourth day Monday with no clear sign of what resolution would follow. President Clinton spent 30 hours with the various participants at an Eastern Shore resort in a bid to break a long deadlock over implementing past peace accords -- and perhaps win a policy victory for himself and fellow Democrats going into elections two weeks from tomorrow.
