Two British men and one American woman were killed Tuesday during a raid on Yemeni Islamic militants who were holding 16 tourists hostage. The remaining hostages -- 10 Britons, two Australians, and one American -- were freed, a Yemen security official said. The kidnappers, part of a group called Islamic Jihad, abducted the tourists Monday near the southern town of Mawdiyah, then demanded the release of their leader, Saleh Haidara al-Atwi. The leader of the militant group had been arrested two weeks ago in the government crackdown on Islamic extremists.
