Soft-spoken Republican Dennis Hastert of Illinois was elected the new Speaker of the House on Saturday, just hours after speaker-elect Bob Livingston's surprise resignation. One GOP source said it's just been one thing after another since Republicans were trounced at the polls in November. Ex-Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke of Louisiana reportedly plans to run for Livingston's seat in Congress.
