Lots more US households are using digital music.
That's the latest finding by Net measurement firm Media Metrix. The company reported Monday that an estimated 4 million people in the United States listened to digital music in the month of June.

Media Metrix said that's up from a few hundred thousand less than a year ago.
"The growth in usage of digital music players has been phenomenal over the last year," said Bruce Ryon, chief technology analyst for Media Metrix, in a statement.
"Less than a year ago, there were a number of shareware products with a few thousand users each, and only one major player in the market, Winamp, with 300,000 users."
Winamp has grown to almost 2 million users, Media Metrix said. RealNetworks' RealJukebox player has grown to over 2.2 million users.
The Media Metrix estimate is based on its measurement of software use tracked on PCs in 10,000 US consumer households.
