Musicmaker.com has struck a deal with the Zomba music group to expand its online catalog of songs available for creating custom CDs.
The exclusive, five-year license will give Musicmaker tracks from Zomba's record labels, including jive and high-profile artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, R. Kelly, and Too Short.
Musicmaker is a Web-based business that lets customers create custom CDs from its catalog of more than 200,000 songs. The company also offers tracks in three secure digital download formats: Liquid Audio, Microsoft MS Audio 4.0, and secure MP3.
Musicmaker has already signed similar licensing agreements with big-league distributors Columbia House and EMI.
