Handspring Handheld Debuts

PalmPilot creators Donna Dubinsky and Jeff Hawkins are the force behind "the Visor," a lower-price, more expandable system aimed at the mass market. It might grab some Palm buyers, but both companies' real target is Microsoft CE.

The much-touted Handspring handheld computer popped out of the box Tuesday, a cheaper and more expandable handheld computer from the inventors of the successful PalmPilot.

Called the Visor, the new computer is similar to the Palm created by Donna Dubinsky and Jeff Hawkins and now used by some 4 million people.
