With regard to "A True Y2K Disaster: the Movie," 20.Nov.1999,
I agree with the stance on this movie. I particularly liked how most of the computers and/or equipment were notdate dependent, or didn't make sense being date dependent.
For instance, the first disaster that struck atmidnight. Can't forget that F-18 that crashed in the Marshall Islands. The first question I thought "How stupid isthat! Why would an F-18 fighter plane have a date dependent process that would cause it to malfunction in year2000?" A lot of that movie was just that, computers crashing for the sake of making something interestinghappen. This made me very irritable knowing that this was aired; even though most of the computers thatcrashed did so not because of what Y2K is actually about.
