The guy who hijacked a Philippines airliner, robbed the passengers and crew of their cash, then bailed out near a village east of Manila, has turned up -- deader than a doornail. Seems like our plucky hijacker, who was not identified but was described by the pilot as a "jilted husband," made his getaway using a homemade parachute. According to a villager on the ground who saw him jump, the hijacker's chute separated from the body almost immediately, making everthing else moot. You might make jam at home. You do not make parachutes at home.
