Subject: Gates' Next Vision of the Future
Sorry, I cannot imagine a world with no written books ("Gates' Next Vision of the Future," May 24, 2000). Our power goes out too often to be able to rely on reading a book on the Internet. I don't need electricity to sit on my back porch holding a book or newspaper to read.
Besides, my computer does not smell like the pages of a book, a most distinctive scent – to me, better than that of any perfume.
