Subject: A Matter of (Wired News) Style
Congratulations on traveling the high road, as opposed to the yellow-brick silicon road – and taking a stand on quality writing. ("A Matter of (Wired News) Style," Oct. 23, 2000)."E-mail" may be but a small step for better writing, but it is terribly symbolic. Our firm, based on journalism backgrounds, really tries hard to write material for clients in a way that people from geeks to grandmothers can understand. Unfortunately, we are often forced by clients to engage in adjectival warfare, superfluous tech-headese and gratuitous garble.
Incidentally, do you know how self-conscious I am writing these comments, when I know you will be looking at every grammatical construction for perfection?
