Subject: Good News, Bad News on AIDS Gene
In reference to your article on the AIDS gene ("Good News, Bad News on AIDS Gene," 2:00 a.m. Nov. 16, 2000 PST)
have a look at Peter Duesberg's commentaries about the non-relationship between HIV and AIDS.
To slow down the deterioration of the immune system, a predisposition to HIV may have no relationship whatsoever.
Remember that Duesberg's hypothesis is that HIV is actually passed from mother to child, that everyone has it – but that it's not "active" unless the immune system is somehow paralyzed, at which time the HIV becomes revealed.
Billions of dollars and hundreds of millions of man-hours wasted on HIV research, when it's not the cause.
