Subject: A New 'Paige' For Education
I'm writing in response to the article ("A New 'Paige' For Education," Mar. 12, 2001). This should be a wake-up call to the NEA and other teacher unions that they had better become more concerned about the student rather than the protection provided for dunderheads and teachers who have ascended to the height of incompetence and are protected by seniority and union thuggery. We need to get back to the 3 "R's," discipline, and respect, so that a teacher is a role model and hero rather than some football-baseball-basketball, pop singer or movie star.
