Subject: Music Artist Has Sinking Feeling

Mr. O'Meara was happy to have his education paid for by the US public through an ROTC scholarship, but now he doesn't want to repay his obligation ("Music Artist Has Sinking Feeling," April 12, 2001). Look at David Robinson. He missed out on millions of dollars in the NBA while fulfilling his obligation to the Navy.

O'Meara is typical of many young people today who spin the wheel of chance to get something for nothing and then when it comes time to pay up on their side of the agreement they feel put upon.
