Genie In a Courtroom

Pop diva Christina Aguilera is suing two music companies to block the release of some songs she recorded several years before she became famous.

NEW YORK -- RCA Records' teen-pop diva Christina Aguilera is going to court to prevent the release of demo recordings she made when she was 14 years old.

Aguilera, now 20, is suing Warlock Records, Platinum to prevent them from releasing the demo compilation "Just Be Free."

The complaint, filed in district court for the Central District of California, alleges unfair competition, appropriation of likeness and breach of contract in connection with Warlock's plan to distribute the record, which was produced in the studios of Los Angeles-based BAM Records, where Allecca and Brown worked.

According to the document, Aguilera is seeking an injunction preventing the sale of the album, as well as unspecified damages and legal fees.

Warlock and Platinum reps were not available for comment.
