I'm writing in response to the article, ("A 'White Hat' Goes to Jail," May 22, 2001.) Most of this article (Taltos' comments, in particular) make it sound likeMax Vision is going to jail for refusing to play ball with the Feds. He'snot. He's going to jail for writing a worm to sneak a backdoor into anumber of systems (the fact that the worm also did some "good" – closed asecurity hole – is irrelevant since it also opened another one).
Now, the article does say that this is why Max Vision is going to jail.
But it also spends much more of its time quoting people who think thatisn't the reason at all.
