Pentagon Fraud

Thousands of Pentagon employees, including military personnel, have been using government-issued credit cards for such crucial purchases as pizzas, furniture and personal computers, according to a congressional investigation. In 2000 alone, they spent $9 billion, and a goodly amount of that went for stuff they were not authorized to buy. One soldier, the report noted, spent more than $3,000 on six visits to various strip joints. The point of issuing cards to employees was to make purchasing more efficient. It worked, apparently.
