Condit: 'I'll Talk'

Gary Condit, the California Democrat whose political career hangs by a thread because of the Chandra Levy affair, said Friday that he will make a public statement regarding his relationship with the missing intern before Labor Day. Despite constant hounding from the media, Condit has maintained a stony silence ever Levy's disappearance in May. Although police have repeatedly said they don't tie Condit to any crime, his admission that he had an affair with Levy -- and subsequent reports that he, er, got around -- didn't sit well with his constituents. Newspapers in Condit's home district have called for his resignation and his popularity is practically nil.
