Serves RIAA right! They should be BANGED away (" SDMI Code Breaker Speaks Freely," August 16, 2001)!
After breaking up Napster, they now set their eyes upon the academics who do research for the Net's safety. That DMCA should be reconfigured & revised. Too draconian an act would stifle innovation in the industry!
RIAA should have devised or incorporated Napster into its fold, instead of breaking it up! Killing such a popular & workable method of downloading won't drive away piracy, it would instead spawn numerous derivatives.
