Subject: License PC Users? It's a Thought
I'm writing in response to the article ("License PC Users? It's a Thought," August 16, 2001). The first question is: Is it really a must to treat the U.S. as the World? I'm getting tired of e-shops serving only U.S. citizens, supposedly international news sources with an all-American focus.
Concerning the main subject: Basically I think that there are quite a few other nations (continents, if you get what I mean) going computer-literate right now, where people's minds can be altered positively, I suppose. This does not exclude other tools of the trade to work effectively, of course, but since we have experience, would it really be unnecessary to try and teach these new millions of users? Whether we require them to take a formal exam or not (for which there are cons and pros, naturally).
