Cuckolds aren't what they used to be. In more civilized times, a husband who caught his wife in bed with another man simply shot the lover and c'est finis. But when Robert Sofolowski, a pet shop owner in Nancy, France, found out that his wife was having an affair with her banker, he tried a different tack. Sofolowski placed this neon sign in his shop window: "If your wife has an account at the bank, Patrice Chopin will not only take care of her money. Her intimacy interests him as well." Banker Chopin sued (another cowardly act), saying his privacy had been violated. The court agreed and fined Sofolowski, who says he'll appeal on behalf of cuckolds everywhere.
