Regine Cavagnoud, the French Super-G champion critically injured after colliding with a German coach Monday, has died of her injuries in an Innsbruck, Austria hospital. Doctors turned off her respirator on Wednesday after it was determined that Cavagnoud, 31, was brain dead. Cavangnoud, who won the Super-G in 1999 to break a 17-year drought by French women downhillers, slammed into Markus Anwander during a training run. Anwander underwent spinal surgery at Innsbruck University Hospital and remains in critical condition.
