You know, the American Library Association is composed of a bunch of people,
some of whom happen to be conservative, some liberal, some idiots, etc. (The Trouble With Harry Potter, Nov. 15, 2001). Me,
I'm a librarian, and proud of it, but I don't bother to pay attention to theALA's screeching about censorship, and neither should anyone else.
Theynever screech about the censorship of texts that matter. If a library orschool were to ban the Bible, the ALA wouldn't say a word. But if that samelibrary or school banned the holy book(s) of some other spiritual group,
they'd raise a ruckus that wouldn't quit.
So don't bother to pay attentionto what the ALA officially says about anything, as the official bias is farto the left, always has been, always will be. Or, put differently, if theALA screeches about the censoring of a text, that text is almost certainlyworthless.
