looks on. Blyth was one of two crew members on the first boat to row across the Atlantic Ocean. He also was the first person to sail solo, nonstop around the globe alone travelling westward (against prevailing winds and currents).

All the boats have cameras on board and are sending images back to land for updates on each team's website. At a length of 23 feet, these rowboats are dwarfed my most any ocean-going crafts they may encounter along the way.

The boats are all identically produced, but rowers have the option to add any kind of electronic gadgets they like -- provided they were on board at the start of the race.
