Subject: Spyware, In a Galaxy Near You
I am writing in response to the article "Spyware, In a Galaxy Near You," Jan. 24, 2002.
I don't see why all of us, as Internet users, are putting up with crap like this.
If a hacker manages to get a virus or worm into your machine through an e-mail message, the FBI is immediately called in to action. A corporation implants what is basically a trojan on your machine and suddenly we're hearing: "Oh! I don't see why you're so worried! We're here to help you!"
I'm sorry. All Internet marketing people/companies are scum and deserved to be treated as such.
I do not want any of them to have my information. I do not want any of them to be sending me e-mail. And I definitely do not want any of them installing trojans on my machine and spying on my activities and retaining/interceptinginformation between me and another party.
Isn't there some law that can be used to sue these people into the gutter where they belong?
