Subject: Klez: Don't Believe 'From' Line
I am writing in response to the article "Klez: Don't Believe 'From' Line,"April 30, 2002.
What is perhaps worse than all these Klez e-mails, is the auto-generated messages from Norton anti-virus telling me that my machine is infected because my e-mail address was faked as the sender.
The article says: "Recipients of the virus-laden e-mails, not understanding that the "From" information is virtually always phony – or even that they have received a virus – have been clogging networks with angry and confused e-mails." If everyone understands this, maybe someone should tell Norton Anti-virus and antigen. Norton is clogging up my mail box 3 to 1 compared to Klez. I think the default forNorton is to send a message (to "from" line) automatically when it finds a virus.
Most annoying – could you instruct everyone in the world to turn off this feature?
