That's the word from a judge in British Columbia when faced with an organic farmer's claim that he doesn't need a production license from the chicken marketing board because his birds are of the earth. Justice Lynn Smith ruled that there was nothing in the law that established the board that would "exclude organically raised chicken from the meaning of the word 'chicken.'"
