Fat Chance

A federal judge has tossed out a class-action lawsuit filed on behalf of a bunch of New York kids claiming that a steady diet at McDonald's has caused them a variety of health problems, including diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity. "If consumers know (or reasonably should know) the potential ill health effects of eating at McDonald's," opined U.S. District Judge Robert Sweet, "they cannot blame McDonald's if they, nonetheless, choose to satiate their appetite with a surfeit of supersized McDonald's products." Or to put it another way, "Back away, tubby."
