Slideshow: Trying to Find That Reggae Beat

Reggae artist Lenky Roy plays his first concert in Siberia, and it doesn't go so well. First the microphone doesn't work. Then Roy misses his curtain call. The latest installment of filmmaker Jim Hall's travelogue tells all.

The evening's performances began with a fur fashion show followed by two hours of assorted opera-style vocalists, Yakutian dancers, a Ricky Martin cover.

Lenky is not in a great mood during the sound check. This is further aggravated by the poor quality of the microphone he has been given. His disappointment in the equipment makes communicating with the sound engineer difficult.

Lenky arrives 20 minutes before he is supposed to go onstage. He's upset that he can't get a bottle of non-carbonated water. The promoter (right) frantically tries to find some, but as a result, Lenky misses his curtain call.
